How to Text Your Crush!

Hey everyone!

Wow. This post is going to be very hypocritical because I'm a very socially awkward person and I once came on so strong my crush ran and hid in a bathroom for 20 minutes....

But I'm going to help you avoid a situation like that!

I just heard all the girls that are going to be reading this simultaneously "aww" while all the boys blushed and whisper shouted "keep it a secret!". Teenagers and their crushes are so cute! But to help you guys reach that cute stage I've compiled a list of texting do's and don'ts. 

DO

• Use emotions when texting him! Smiley faces, and winks will add a flirty little touch to your messages and will make you seem less like an emotionless robot
• Try to keep the conversation going! Ask them how their day went, if they have plans for the weekend, etc. 
• Give them some time to respond. If they don't answer you right away it doesn't mean they hate you; their phone may have died or they're busy 
• Take a few minutes to respond. If you answer split seconds after they send you a text, you may come across as desperate and weird 
• Be polite and respectful; if they say they're tired don't make them stay up with you, it will make them annoyed
•  Take a genuine interest in what they're saying; don't just respond with "cool" or "that's nice". Show them you care about what they have to say!

DON'T

• Okay there's nothing wrong with using emotions, but don't over do it! Too many emotions is super annoying; it clutters up screens and takes away from messages
• Don't use "..." as a way to get them to respond faster. People usually only use the dreaded 3 dots when they're angry or annoyed 
• Don't text them first all the time! Let them text you; it shows that they want to talk to you too
• Don't text them 24/7! If you take a break between texting they might smile and realize that's it's been a while and they miss talking to you 
• Don't over-flirt! You can only blame it on your friends so many times....(Guilty!)
• Don't "tExT lIke ThIs" because it's really hard to read! 
• If they ask you what you're up too, don't respond with "nothing you?" Give them an answer like "watching T.V", or "listening to music!" More detailed answers could keep the conversation going 

For those of you who don't yet have your crushes cell phone number, don't worry! There's plenty of ways you can get it. One I've found that works is "forgetting" to write down the homework questions and asking them to text you them! Then you'll have their number.
